Macbeth -  Macbeth was Thane of Glamis and a general for Scotland. He got evil thoughts when three witches told him he was going to be made thane of Cawdor. Macbeth was a brave soldier and a powerful man, but he is not a virtuous one. Macbeth was tempted to murder King Duncan to fulfill his ambition of being king.  While king he was a tyrant and his response to every problem was violence and murder.
 
Lady Macbeth -  Macbeth’s wife.Early in the play she talks Macbeth into killing Duncan and taking the crown. After all the bloodshed began, however, she started to feel guilt and fell into madness even more than Macbeth did. Her conscience starts to affect her so much that she eventually kills herself.
 
The Three Witches -  The three witches who plot mischief against Macbeth with prophecies. Their prediction caused Macbeth to kill Duncan, ordered that Banquo and his son to be killed, and to believe that he was immortal. The witches were servents of Hecate.
 
Banquo -  A brave and noble general whose children are suppose to inherit the throne. Like Macbeth, Banquo thinks ambitous thoughts but doesn't act on them. When Macbeth orders for him to be killed Banquo's ghost starts to haunt him.
 
King Duncan -  The king of Scotland who Macbeth kills to take the crown. Duncan was a rightous, and a kindhearted King.
 
Macduff -  A Scottish nobleman who didn't trust Macbeth from the start. He eventually becomes a leader of the crusade to overthrow Macbeth. His mission was to have Malcolm to be the king and also wanted to get revenge for the murder of his wife and son.
 
Malcolm -  The son of Duncan, who challenges Macbeth for the throne with the help of Macduff and England.
 
Hecate -  The goddess of witchcraft, who helps the three witches work their mischief on Macbeth.
 
Fleance -  Banquo’s son, who survives Macbeth’s attempt to murder him.
 
Lennox -  A Scottish nobleman.
 
Ross -  A Scottish nobleman.
 
The Murderers -  A group of ruffians who were paid by Macbeth to murder Banquo, Fleance (whom they failed to kill), Macduff's wife and his son.
 
Porter -  The drunken doorman of Macbeth’s castle.
 
Lady Macduff -  Macduff’s wife, whom Macbeth had killed.
 
Donalbain -  Duncan’s son and Malcolm’s younger brother
